A website to visit on this issue is www.unwantedhorsecoalition.org. Buster was elected Parlimentarian for the executive board of ARC for 2008. Also discussed was the fact that states, including GA, are losing access to trails in National Parks due to various factors including a lack of communicating with federal bureaucrats, lack of volunteers, and lack of involvement. Other user groups such as recreational bikers are getting high profile with the media coverage of their involvement of trail building and trail maintenance. They would like to exclude horseback riding on those trails and may succeed if horse owners don't get involved. ~tjv ~£v,;, Buster encouraged everyone to contact the GA State Represent~ive for his/her district and ask him/her to attend the Equine Day at the Capitol FebA;' 2008. He suggested that everyone get a name tag pre printed to wear that day showing what horse organization they are affiliated with. March 8 will be the next GA State Park Volunteer workday. Plans are being made to have volunteers at all the state parks which have equine trails. Shaun Newson of War Horse Ranch, Milner visited and announced that he is now offering board and training at his place. Meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM. Submitted by Bonnie Martin
